FAQ

Honest answers.

What teachers actually want to know before they sign up.

01

What is Classentra?

Classentra is a modern workspace for independent teachers running live courses. Sessions, materials, assignments, attendance, messaging, and AI prep — all in one place instead of six tabs.

02

Who is Classentra for?

Independent teachers, tutors, coaches, music and language instructors, and small academies who run live courses and want one calm workspace instead of juggling six tools.

03

Do I need to install anything?

No. Classentra runs in your browser. Students and teachers just need a link.

04

Can my students pay me through Classentra?

Yes. Paid courses are built in: set a price on your course, students check out online, and payouts land in your own Stripe account via Stripe Connect. You can also keep courses free and invite students with a join code — payments are always optional.

05

You're in beta. What does that mean for me?

It means we ship updates fast and you get a real say in what we build next. Your data is safe, your courses are stable, and our pricing won't surprise-spike. Occasionally you might hit a rough edge — when you do, email us and we usually fix within days.

06

Do students pay anything?

No. Students never pay Classentra. The subscription belongs to the teacher account; students join through invite links or join codes.

07

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan runs one course with up to 25 active students on your own Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams account. Paid plans start at $19/mo (Solo) when you need more courses, students, or zero per-sale fees.

08

Can I use Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams for live sessions?

Yes — every tier, including Free, lets you connect your own Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams account via OAuth. Classentra generates the meeting link for each session automatically. Native in-app live classes are an optional $19/mo add-on on any paid tier.

09

Do I have to talk to a sales rep to see pricing?

No. Every plan and every transaction fee is on the pricing page. No RFP, no demo theater, no 'contact us for a quote.' Most buyers are signed up and running their first session inside ten minutes.

10

Is Classentra an LMS or a TMS?

Both. Most platforms branded 'LMS' are async content libraries — they assume students press play and you press send. Live teaching needs the TMS half too: instructor scheduling, attendance, session logistics. Classentra ships TMS + LMS in one product so you don't bolt a video tool onto a course platform.

11

Are there usage surcharges I should know about?

No. Predictable pricing with no active-user surcharge, no implementation fee, no minimum seat count. Creator-sold courses pay a per-charge transaction fee that drops from 7% on Free to 0% on Pro. That's it.

12

Why two pricing ladders — Teachers and Organizations?

Creators selling courses to the public have different needs from organizations running internal training. Two pricing ladders means you don't pay $189/mo to host five compliance courses, and you don't pay $6k/yr to sell three paid cohorts. Pay for what you actually do.
